About Me

Fishing Biography

I am extremely blessed that I get to do what I love for a living! Growing up in Alaska, my Dad introduced me to the outdoors at a very young age. I immediately fell in love with fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors. At age 10, my family moved to a subdivision in East Tennessee. I found the environment to be confining to say the least. However, a local tackle store owner suggested that I join a junior bass club which hosted a youth fishing tournament once a month. Men of the Cleveland Bass Club sacrificed their time to take the kids out and teach them all they could. I immediately fell in love with the sport of bass fishing and simply couldn't get enough of it. I read every article, watched every TV show, and consumed any information available that I could find. I additionally was fortunate enough to meet some great mentors along the way like FLW/MLF Pro Mike Surman. Mike didn't just help me become a better fisherman; he also taught me the steps it would take to make a career in competitive bass fishing. Heeding his advice, when I turned 16 my parents bought me a small aluminum bass tracker which allowed me to get more time on the water. I subsequently started High School fishing around that time, where I fished for Walker Valley High School. During my time there, my fishing partner and I won the 2015 BASS High School Bassmaster Classic and had several respectable finishes in the State Championships.

I was then offered a fishing scholarship to Bryan College, and quickly jumped on the opportunity to further my academic education and fishing career as well. Bryan College is located less than a mile away from Lake Chickamauga and I took full advantage of the convenient location by spending countless days on the water. Being on the fishing team allowed me to gain fishing experience all over the country while doing it on the school's dime. I was blessed to win several tournaments while at Bryan, and my college career was highlighted by winning the 2020 College Bassmaster National Championship while setting a 3-day Bassmaster weight record. I graduated from Bryan College in May 2021 with an MBA in marketing and a 4.0 GPA.

As my college fishing career was coming to an end, I decided to further my fishing career by starting a guide business and fishing the Bassmaster Southern Opens in 2021. I had two great top-12 finishes that season but missed qualifying for the elites because of a bomb at the first tournament. I entered the 2022 season hungrier than ever to make the Bassmaster Elite Series and because of that I decided to enter all 9 Bassmaster Opens. The season was full of ups and downs, but consistency led to me finishing in 3rd place in the overall angler of the year race to qualify for the 2023 Bassmaster Elite Series.

I just wrapped up my rookie season on the Elites and had a solid year finishing in the top 50 in 7 of the 9 tournaments. I accomplished a lifelong goal in qualifying for the 2024 Bassmaster Classic and cannot wait to go fish that event. I am excited for what the 2024 season holds in guiding and in tournmanet fishing.
